[C0DE_WITHIN]
A language only we share.
Escentric Molecules has never followed the rulebook. Twenty years ago, the brand rewrote it, challenging the conventions of perfumery with the launch of the cult-favourite, Molecule 01. Since then, it has continued to champion authenticity over trends, earning a devoted global following across fashion, music, art and wider culture.
C0DE WITHIN is the purest expression of that ethos. Bringing together three cultural disruptors, the campaign explores scent as more than something worn. It becomes a language of presence, identity and self-expression. An invisible code that reveals what has always existed within.
C0DE WITHIN brings together three individuals from different creative worlds: Mayah Alkhateri, Alfie Sibthorpe and Soap Collins. What connects them is not a uniform identity, but a common frequency. A shared language of Escentric Molecules.
Directed by Services Généraux, styled by Billy Lobos, with makeup by Martina Derosa, hair by Soichi Inagaki, choreography by Benjamin Jonsson, set design by Paulina Piipponen and sound by Tom Hardwick-Allan and Alex McKenzie, the C0DE WITHIN campaign reclaims EM’s countercultural roots and marks 20 years of cult-favourite skin scents Molecule 01 and Escentric 01 – the scents that redefined what a fragrance could be and carved a new niche in perfumery where minimalism became attitude, and reduction became a form of rebellion.
“Molecule 01 makes me feel light and agile. When I wear it, I feel that I can express myself fully and embody dissent. It complements me rather than overpowers me. It's with me, but it doesn't impose itself.”
Alfie Sibthorpe, Musician, Rat Section

C0DE WITHIN begins with SKIN: the closest point of contact between fragrance and wearer. At Escentric Molecules, skin does not simply carry a fragrance. It completes it. Skin, movement, experiences and identity become part of the formula, shaping every expression in real time. Never fixed, never identical, each fragrance evolves through the chemistry of its wearer, revealing a composition that is as individual as the person beneath it.
“I am guided through the world through my sense of smell. My day-to-day is led by fragrance. I need markers in my life and my days and my places. I need to put pins in everything with smells. I would not describe Escentric 01 as a perfume. It is not a perfume, it is a mood.”
Soap Collins, Artist, Actor, Model

“My relationship to fragrance is very personal because it’s part of my Arabic culture. And it’s not just smelling good; it’s about hospitality, spirituality, and religion. Kiss Facility is about empowerment, intimacy, and finding your identity through freedom. And to me, Escentric Molecules smells like intimacy and love.”
