Synthetic, invisible compounds became the main act, creating olfactory experiences that were personal, unpredictable, and inexplicably addictive. Since then, Escentric Molecules has been quietly rewriting the rules, exploring minimalism without austerity, experimentation without excess, and a kind of chemistry that feels both scientific and strangely intimate.
For our 20th anniversary, we turn our attention to the full Escentric Molecules line-up: the Molecule line – scent in its most minimal, singular form; the Escentric line – a tribute to those aroma-molecules, expanded and set into motion; and Molecule +, our experimental playground, where the cult-favourite Molecule 01 meets the untamed organic world.

Molecule
Pure and singular, the Molecule fragrances are radically minimalist and celebrate the chemical scents that make up the bulk of perfumes in their own right. Perfumer Geza Schoen wanted to take a conceptual approach to olfactory creativity and innovate at a molecular level by reducing a fragrance down to its essential elements. Effects, not fragrances, where a single note aroma-chemical gives the most dynamic results: freshness and sex appeal.
Molecule 01: Revolutionary Minimalism
Molecule 01 consists of Iso E Super, pure and singular. Unbounded by gender norms and expectations, this cocooning, velvety and enveloping cult-favourite scent remains as radical, disruptive and avant-garde as the day it was first bottled.
Molecule 02: Mineral Amber
Molecule 02 zeroes in on Ambroxan, evoking sunlight on skin and the salty warmth of the sea. The effect is best described as a fresh, almost mineral smoothness, which subtly expands to envelop you in olfactive layers of sensuous, sparkling molecules.
Molecule 03: Grassy Roots
Grassiest of our skin scents, Molecule 03 is Vetiveryl Acetate, pure and singular. Smooth and refined, this is vetiver like you’ve never experienced – fresh, woody, and uniquely vibrant.
Molecule 04: Cocooning Radiance
Molecule 04 consists of Javanol, pure and singular. Javanol is a sandalwood-type molecule that retains the radiance and endurance of natural sandalwood but is sheer and transparent like no sandalwood in nature.
Molecule 05: Piney Cashmere
Molecule 05 consists of Cashmeran, pure and singular. Cashmeran is one of the greats of synthetic chemistry. It has an unusually complex character for a single molecule, combining cocooning, musky softness, dry, warm, aromatic woodiness, and a sweet, resinous pine note.
Escentric
While our Molecule scents consist of aroma-molecules, pure and singular, the Escentric fragrances highlight the unique character of the aroma-molecules with ingredients chosen to bring out the molecules' key facets.
"The secret of Escentric Molecules is the way the Molecules tell me how to create the Escentrics. Each Molecule fragrance is a composition of one. But these molecules are special. They don't have just one note like most molecules; they have three or four notes to them, like a musical phrase. The Escentric fragrances are my improvisations on these molecular riffs. Everything that is in the fragrance is there because it plays with the molecule itself," says perfumer Geza Schoen.
Escentric 01: Cult-scented Formula
Escentric 01 is a love letter to Iso E Super, extending and amplifying the molecule to last beyond what you can smell, magnifying its warmth and magnetic presence. The opening spark of lime peel and pink pepper leads into a heart of green jasmine bud and orris, anchored by balsamic notes and clean musk in the base that lingers. Quietly magnetic, never shouty.
Escentric 02: Sparkling Freshness
Escentric 02 is centred on the elusive power of nature-identical Ambroxan (13.5%), a sensual amber molecule with almost mineral smoothness, together with the aphrodisiac notes of green jasmine bud and a sparkling 'gin and tonic' accord, a hint of Almdudler, and "that specific smell you get when you unwrap a new Apple laptop".
Escentric 02 Extrait de Parfum: The Essence, Intensified.
Everything you love about Escentric 02 but more concentrated, more magnetic, more sensual. Escentric 02 Extrait de Parfum is 30% Ambroxan. Undiluted mineral warmth. Crisp jasmine bud, a hint of Almdudler, and that signature ‘gin and tonic’ fizz – dialled all the way up. Skin-sensual, luminous, unchained.
Escentric 03: Arboreal Concoction
Escentric 03 focuses on Vetiveryl Acetate in a formula that pays tribute to the three roots used in perfumery: vetiver, ginger and orris. Escentric 03 distils vetiver into something both elemental and avant-garde: earthy roots polished to a futuristic gleam. Grounded yet weightless, this is renewal bottled – a grassy green revolution in scent.
Escentric 04: Hazy Fantasy
Award-winning Escentric 04 centres on Javanol in a formula that highlights its grapefruit accent, fizzing with crisp, bitter notes of pink grapefruit peel and a touch of lime. The grapefruit note bursts forth from the bottle – aromatic, pink, unusual and bold. But never kitsch.
Escentric 05: Deconstructed Mediterranea
Escentric 05 is a love letter to Cashmeran, an abstraction of summer on a Mediterranean island. An oceanic summer fragrance that isn't fuelled by lunar exotic boring florals and is instead charged with psychedelic freshness. E05 is the equivalent of a cosy cashmere jumper dripped in the Mediterranean.

The Molecule + collection sees the cult-favourite Molecule 01 take on a new guise in eight iterations: M+ Patchouli, M+ Iris, M+ Mandarin, M+ Guaiac Wood, M+ Black Tea, M+ Ginger, M+ Cistus and M+ Champaca.
Molecule 01 + Patchouli
M+ Patchouli is an innovative reimagining of the classic patchouli note, enlivened with Molecule 01 with bewitching notes of cedarwood intermingled with the softness of Patchouli Coeur.
Molecule 01 + Iris
The effervescent glow of iris pallida absolue – one of perfumery’s rarest ingredients – meets the radiance of Iso E Super. A scent that hums and shimmers, like the first day of spring. Fresh, luminous, impossible to pin down.
Molecule 01 + Mandarin
M+ Mandarin is a fragrance with a narrative that twists and turns. In the first act, Mandarin's hearty twang hits instantly and all at once. As the effervescent note starts to fade away, the second act sees Iso E Super sync in, intermingling with the freshness of citrus. In the final scene, Mandarin slowly departs the stage, giving the limelight to the erogenous solo number offered by Molecule 01.
Molecule 01 + Guaiac Wood
Guaiac wood has one of the best drydowns in olfactory alchemy, containing depth within itself, darkness, something grave, almost. Imagine wrapping yourself in olfactive layers of creamy, warm whisky, and an emulsified smoke from the fireplace permeates the room; that's M+ Guaiac Wood.
Molecule 01 + Black Tea
This herbaceous scent is a marriage of the cedarwood tonality of Iso E Super with the subtle yet complex aroma of black tea and maté tea absolute, resulting in an airy yet earthy, slightly bitter infusion with the warm, velvety sensation of our cult-favourite Molecule 01.
Molecule 01 + Ginger
M+ Ginger stands out with its contrasting nuances that are as surprising as they are addictive. Strong yet soothing, peppery but airy, familiar yet singularly imaginative.
Molecule 01 + Cistus
Iso E Super meets the raw sensuality of Cistus. The result? Radiant depth. A haze of warmth. Sheer, leathery, and lasting. M+ Cistus smells like labdanum but brighter; amber with a sunlit edge. It’s smoky and mineral with leathery undertones that ground the sweetness.
Molecule 01 + Champaca
An opulent yet weightless skin scent where the multidimensional facets of red champaca entwine with the velvety ease of Iso E Super, leaving a luxuriously luminous trail that lingers with quiet elegance.
